“I met our realtor when she was showing a house at an open house. She took my daughter and me all over the place looking at houses for my daughter (one of us is hard to please...). She was continually cheerful despite our indecision. When we finally decided on one, she was able to help with the negotiations, provided good advice (she suspected it would not assess for the asking price, and indeed it did not), and put us in contact with a helpful lender. (I usually deal with a Big Bank, and they have been far less helpful, and indeed weren't available at all on the weekend when we needed them.) The lender she got us with was also able to get my daughter some special deals for a first-time buyer, which I doubt the Big Bank would have bothered trying to do.”
